| 1. | Family friendly and Christian web sites are being purchased by porn sites: This is a very sick trick that works like this. It is very hard to get people to come to a web site. It is much easier to buy a site that already has a lot of traffic and just change what the site does. There are people that search for web sites to buy, especially family friendly and Christian web sites, looking for owners that want to sell their sites. They buy the sites for almost nothing and change the sites into porn sites. If that is not bad enough, almost all family friendly sites link to each other, so when one site is changed to a porn site it automatically shows up through links to other sites. I am posting this notice because this very thing just happened here, at Apple Sauce Kids. For years I had a link to a great free educational materials site called the Electric School House. One day I got a complaint E-mail from a lady complaining about porn on my site. What she did was take my link to the Electric School House site which had been changed into a porn site. When I checked out the complaint it was true and I immediately removed the link. Most Christian sites are run by good hard working people that really care about the service that they provide but we have no control over the things other sites do. And that is why most sites are very hesitant to put in links to other sites. If you find any ungodly materials on a Christian site please notify the site owner or Web Master A.S.A.P.. They simply don't know that it is there and they will remove it immediately. Most sites are run by one part time person and you just can't keep track of everything. Example: Apple Sauce Kids is operated by one part time person, Phil Ebert (me), and we get over 500,000 visitors a year. When you work a full time job and run a web site you just can't stay on top of everything. Notice posted 3/20/06 |
